About Me

WHY I WRITE ROMANCE NOVELS FOR WOMEN

A lot of people ask me, “Why is a guy writing romance novels for women?”

The answer is simple. Everyone falls in love. Even Men.

Imagine that. ;-)

Of course, I’m half-joking, but also half-serious. Most men behave as if they have no emotions and certainly never—GASP!—talk about them. Men control their emotions. No man is a man if he lets his emotions get the best of him, right? Men conquer their emotions.

Hardly.

Emotions are as much a part of a man’s human experience as they are a woman’s. I’m sure the specifics are as different as individual people can be. But if a man wants to have a complete experience as a human being, he must embrace his emotional nature and learn to understand it.

What better way to explore emotions than to focus on stories centering around emotional experiences? Including the most intense emotional experience of all, love?

Having read a slew of New Adult romances in the past year, I noticed again and again that these novels dealt with the repressed pain of emotional scars and how love can help heal our wounds. Everyone has emotional scars. Women and men. Everyone hopes to heal, and a loving relationship can be a conduit for both partners to heal together.

My own stories feature characters who are on a quest to heal their pain. I believe this is a universal desire. It’s my hope that readers of my stories may heal in some small way or gain some perspective regarding their own emotional wounds.

  1. Great book!!! I am awaiting the second book to see where Sam’s journey leads. I applaud you on zero noticeable typos or grammatical errors. BRAVO!!! (That may sound crazy, however, you would be shocked at how many I catch on my from my e-reader)

    • Thank you so much Charity! I’m so glad you enjoyed Fearless. Books 2 and 3 will have all kinds of excitement for Sam. And sincerely, thank you for giving me an A+ on typos and grammar! I was on a mission to make this book typo free, which is nearly impossible when you edit the book yourself! Your comment is not crazy at all, and I TOTALLY appreciate it, from one grammar nerd to another. ;-)

  2. I really enjoyed Fearless. Can’t wait to read more about Sam,Christos and friends. Glad you are sharing the male point of view on romance. I have been wanting to read more romances by male authors. Do you have any recommendation on male written romances?

    • Thank you Christie! :-D I’m so glad you enjoyed Fearless. Reckless is in the works! :-) Be sure to click the blue SIGN UP button on the main home page of this blog for my mailing list if you want to be notified when Reckless comes out. Thanks again, Christie!

  7. Hi Devon,
Congratulations on creating such a fantastic setting with such relatable characters! I am really enjoying following Christos & Sam’s story and can’t wait to see what else you have in store for them. I agree with Charity; both spelling and grammar have been excellent, however I have spotted a couple of errors, which is completely understandable – how on earth do you edit your own work??!! That is something that is nigh on impossible! Having learnt this has only made me appreciate your work more. I am eagerly anticipating the release of Reckless. Good luck. :)

    • Thank you so much, Jenna. :-D I’m so glad you enjoyed the story. Yes, there are about 6 typos remaining in the current published version. I haven’t had the time to upload the corrected files because I’m so busy with Reckless! :-) Thanks again for your interest. Reckless is on the way soon! :-)

  8. Wow… thank you so much for smart, humorous, witty, seamless writing, and just a great story! I read a lot of books and study Psychology, yet you give the reader an attachment to the characters.. I can also say you need to write as many books as you can; because I am sure we will all eat them up. I even learned some amazing things about life in your writing and more readers will benefit from your talent. I have never responded to any author before, but you were a must in my book. You deserve a standing ovation! I salute you! I am looking forward to many more wonderful stories ahead. Thank you for sharing your amazing gift!

    • Holy cow, Laurie! You just made my day! :-D I’m so glad you got more from Fearless than pure entertainment. I mean, I’m glad I was able to entertain, but that you got something meaningful from the story is icing on the cake! Yay! :-D Thank you SO much for your kind words. :-) And more books are on the way. I’m in the midst of cranking through Reckless, which will hit in October. Thanks for writing, Laurie! :-)

  9. So, don’t hate but I purchased Fearless when it came out forgot about it and it sat in my pile of books to be read and I was bored bored bored and said what the hell…..and I started to read. Four freaking hours later, and a grumpy husband who wanted dinner (how dare he ask for for dinner when I am reading) finished and wanted to kick myself in the ass for not reading this book sooner.

And then if that is not enough (don’t take this the wrong way) You’re a guy!!!!! I think my jaw was on the floor for two minutes. My poor brain was trying to catch up to the fact that 1. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
    2. I dislike the whole man whore thing (ok so he really isn’t) but sorta kinda was)but you made me love him.
    3. You’re a guy!!!!!! who wrote such a sweet and touching book!(Still scratching my head and wanting to kick myself but hey, I live with a Neanderthal and that is my excuse)

So, yes….I am an ass, loved the book, can’t wait for book two and if you need any Arc readers……..hint hint…

    • Ha ha ha. :-) What’s to hate? I couldn’t ask for a more enthusiastic response to Fearless! I should make the new tagline of the book “Making Husbands Wait for Dinner Around the Globe” ;-) I’m totally flattered that you were surprised to realize I was a dude. I worked hard to give Samantha an authentic 19 year old young woman’s voice, so I couldn’t be happier. Yes, ARC readers for Reckless sounds great! I’ll shoot you a direct email. :-)

      • You nailed the voice on ALL the characters. My favorite books are the ones where you want to be friends and I want to be friends with them all so congrats on such a great book!

  10. Wow!!!!!!!!! I mean seriously,,,,, WOW! Did not expect this book to grab me hook, line and sinker! Plus , I live in San Diego which made it even more enjoyable and like @geboyd30 ,,, her comment – YOUR A GUY!!!!honestly, did not expect that! Kudos! BRILLIANT writing!
Absofrickenlutely cannot wait for the next book! Well done Devon. You should put a disclaimer in your books though,, ” For all the significant others out there, sorry you will be served fast food or cereal while she/he reads this book . Cooking is on hold” Haha!! thank you for taking a chance on us readers!!!!!! Again,,, WOW….. Can’t wait for # 2:)

    • That’s awesome, Cheryl! :-D I’m so glad you got a good San Diego fix from Fearless! Yes, I admit it, I’m a dude. ;-) Thank you so much for your kind words about my writing. :-) Yes, Fearless is starving husbands and children around the world. GASP!! How terrible! ;-) There will be plenty more San Diego-isms in Reckless, which will be starving your family again in October. :-)

      • Yes,,,, finally downloaded book 2( mind you I stayed up until 3am,,,,damn it, reading) ! Still, LOVE the story so far and sooo love ur sense of humor! The one thing I love when an author writes about a town you live in, it just brings it that much closer to home ! I can completely visualize what your talking about! BONUS! Well done again Devon ! You have a forever fan in me my friend:)

      • Wow, Cheryl! I’m so glad Reckless kept you up reading! I love it when a book does that to me. :-D So glad you found it funny. Yes, I put much more of San Diego into Reckless, glad you enjoyed the immersion! :-)

  11. Cheryl, mine did not even get cereal. I think I did the Neanderthalic “point and grunt” in the general direction toward the kitchen when it was dinner time.

And I am still thinking about this book.

  12. Impressive to say the least!! And anxious to see what is in store for the rest of the journey. Also, What is your plan after these books????

    • Thanks, Melissa! :-) I’m so glad you enjoyed Fearless. After Reckless and Painless are complete, I have a Rocker Romance I’m DYING to write. It’s about a tough-as-nails young woman who is working her butt off to become a rockstar, and oh, there’s a really hot rocker guy in the story… ;-)

  13. Good looking very forward to you never stopping your writing I find you very talented and funny. You bring a new twist and therefore keep the reader interested. Cant wait till October.

  14. Love and hate. I loved the books. Hate that I have to wait for Painless. Just stumbled on the first one yesterday and stay up all night reading it. I started the second immidiantly after and did stop until I finished it at 2am. Now I have to wait for the next one to come out. It’s killing to wait and see how it going workout. Awesome series. You are now one, of my new favorite authors. It also help having the gorgeous man on the the cover.

    • Thank you Christy! I love to be hated! ;-) At least when it comes to waiting for my next book to come out! ;-) Thank you so much for reading both books, and for stopping by to say hello! :-D

  15. Loved both Fearless and Reckless! It was a jaw dropping moment to see a male write a book like this! I was in shock when i read all of the “girl thoughts” and thinking how the heck does a guy know wth we are thinking!

    Truly amazing!

  16. I just finished Fearless and Reckless. I have to say I was not expecting that ending. :( I loved both of these books. The books were great, the character’s were great. I cant say enough good things about these books. Read them in 3 days. lol I can not wait for the 3rd book! You are my new favorite author. :)

  17. Totally in love with there story when I first bought fearless I was like I’ll get to it soon but the moment I stared reading I was hooked. I really feel connected with the characters. And when I found out you were a male I was shocked you were able to to both male character and female character so well. And even Romeo’s character is well written. You really have a talent in writing I hope after this series you will write more. Ps painless needs to come out like tomorrow.

    • Thank you so much, Alexandria! :-D I’m so glad you enjoyed my characterizations of Sam, Christos AND Romeo! (Romeo ROCKS!) Anyway, I do plan many books after Painless. First will be a rocker romance. :-O But in the mean time, I’ve gotta finish Painless! :-D Thanks so much for stopping by to say hi! :-)

  18. Hi Devon, just finished both fearless and reckless in two day and can not wait to read the next one, hope it come out early 2013 so I can read all 3 together

Ps keep Christos alive for his sam

    • Thank so, Blondie! I’m so glad you enjoyed both books! Yay! I’m cranking away on Painless as fast as possible! It’ll be here before you know it! :-D And P.S. If you’re worried, look at the cover of Painless! ;-)

  19. Ugh!!! DEVON!!!!!!!:/ This was only a handful of books I wanted to throw at the wall! Haha, no , really,,,,, I’m still irritated… So GOOOOOD but soooooooo left me hanging! I love rooting for couples who are against the odds or stereo typical today. Kiddos my friend for writing , AGAIN , another great book! CANNOT wait for Painless!
    Your San Diego forever fan:)

    • Thank you tons, Cheryl! I will happily have my book thrown at a wall! :-D I’m a sucker for a cliff hanger. I LOVE to HATE them! ;-) Anyway, thanks for writing, and you can look forward to more San Diego in Painless! :-D

  20. I got Fearless on Amazon for free and would have happliy paid for that one since it was so good. I went on to Reckless and finished last night in bed. OMG!!! Talk about dreams!!! Glad my husband was right beside me! I cannot wait until Painless comes out. I sure hope it’s the early, early part of 2014. I have read many romance books, but I have to admit, yours really kept me hooked. Thanks so much for a male’s point of view on love and relationships!

    • That’s awesome, Katrina! :-D I always love it when people are kept up late reading! That’s always the measure of a fun read, in my book! ;-) Thank you so much! Yes, Painless is slated for late January or February 2014. :-D Thanks for stopping by to say hello! :-D

  21. I love your books. The characters are amazing. I hope the next one is out very soon. Never had a book leave me so wanting more. I hope they all get a happy ending. Well maybe not Tiffany.

    • Thank you so much, Cheryl! :-D Romeo just told me that he expected no less, and Kamiko slapped him for being so egotistical! ;-) I’m flattered you’ve enjoyed the books so much! I promise, the ending of Painless will deliver! :-D Thanks for writing, Cheryl! :-D -Devon

  22. i love these books i cant wait for the third book painless 2014 is to long to wait i love sam and christos and please dont kill christos he is the heart of these books

  23. Efaristo Devon!

    Love the Greek angle!

Just finished Reckless (re-read fearless first) and simply cannot wait for Painless.
Devon you are too nice to finish Christos off and besides I so want him to live so that he can justify punching that bullying lowlife.

Everyone needs a friend like Romeo, I have several and have some fond memories of crazy nights in Ibiza! Bitch of a mum (mom) yep got one of those too!
    The comedy lines are A++++++++++++++

Did you ever think of becoming an agony aunt? Wow you would amazing .

I look forward to to reading all of your future books agapi mou.

    • Hey, Sandra! Efharisto poli! I’m glad you’re loving the Greek! I’ve been indulging in my love of the culture and food, and to the limited degree I know it, the language. :-D Don’t worry, Painless will deliver the goods! :-D Yes, Romeo rocks. You can read a short story about Romeo & Kamiko’s crazy Halloween right here: http://bit.ly/1ag0ELe

I had to look up agony aunt. I’m assuming you meant an advice columnist? I would totally do it, writing as Romeo. ;-) But thank you, I’m flattered you think I’d do a good job. :-D

      Thanks for writing, Sandra! :-D

      -Devon

  24. Wow, so enjoyed your books, fearless and reckless I just found them and readed them back to back, it all so great to have a male point of view as well. ( you guys do keep your mouth shut to often ).
Look forward to painless to see where you take us next.
Luck forwarded to read any more series from you.
You have talent to show the world, and to follow your dreams.

    • Thank you so much, Jules! :-D I’m so glad you enjoyed both books! :-) There will be plenty of male POV in Painless (and my upcoming books). I had no idea the male POV was in such high demand! Luckily, I have plenty to say in that department. ;-) Thanks again for all the kind words, Jules. It means a lot! -D Devon

  25. I am sad to say I spent my weekend reading your books. I found Fearless while I was looking at another book and your book was a suggested read. It sounded very interesting and I was intrigued by a male author. From the first time I opened the book I was spellbound. Your characters are strong and I love how you have created not only Christos and Sam but also their friends and family. I was not even finished with Fearless when I bought Reckless. I have already begun the 2nd book and I was hard pressed to put down my Nook to take a shower for work. The book brought me in and I was able to see the characters and scenarios as if I was an actual person living through it. I have read a lot of books and I will say this book has caught and kept my attention and I am anxiously waiting for the next book. As a reader I feel the joy, skepticism, jealousy, anger, and sadness of the characters. Sam and Christos become the best they can be together. When they were separate they were only half a person but together they become whole. I am a viewer on the sidelines cheering them on to succeed and triumph over those who do not believe in them.

    • Wow, Tiffany! That’s awesome! :-D I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the books so far! And you totally nailed the spirit of the books with your comment about them becoming whole when they’re together! :-D Thanks so much for writing and all your kind words. :-) -Devon

  26. I have read both your books and am somewhat patiently awaiting the next one. I am finding myself cheering them on while at the same time wanting to yell and scream at them LOL ;-).. KIDS.. LOL.. So much easier to provide advise than it is to live it, think we’ve all made the mistakes in judgements these two have shown. I will be very happy to see the next one and find out what you have decided their fate is.. KUDOS to you on weaving such a wonderful story.. Thank you!

    • Thank you so much, Lorraine! :-D Yes, Sam and the gang are just kids, struggling to make good decisions as adults for the first time. Thank you for showing them compassion! I think you’ll be happy with what happens in Painless. :-) Thanks for writing! :-) -Devon

  27. I have read and enjoyed Fearless. I am almost 3/4 of the way through Reckless and have just come upon a very disturbing anti-semantic phrase. I am shocked to find the phrase “Jew-fro” used in a Young Adult book. There is enough anti-semantism in this world without an author of your caliber adding to it. I will no longer read this book or buy any other books from you and will also be writing my review to Amazon.

    • Thanks for writing, Judi. Although my use of the term was not intended to be offensive (Samantha liked the kids who visited her at work and thought of them affectionately), and I had no intention of offending anyone by putting it in the book, out of respect for those who it might offend, I decided to remove it. :-) Devon

  28. Read both Fearless and Reckless in a day and a half. Love Sam and Cristos! I feel the same, like hearing the male POV too! Can’t wait for Painless!! When do you think it will be out?

  29. Devon I must say you writing ability is your masterpiece because I just finished Reckless and all I can say is WOW!!!! I cannot wait to read Painless. I so love your sense of humor in these books, I have found myself laughing quite a bit, Romeo is one of my favorites. Thank you Devon for sharing these books with all of us readers :-)

    • Thank you so much, Shelly! :-D I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the books so much! :-) I’m deep into the writing of Painless, and it will be out on schedule in late January 2014. :-D Thanks for writing! :-) P.S., I’ll tell Romeo he has another fan! ;-)

  30. Just finished fearless and I must admit I wa surprised at how well you wrote your female characters . Sam was a little neurotic and the binge eating icecream scenes made me squirm I know too many young women with eating disorders for that not to hit home. But the emotional responses she had where totally believable , the self loathing screamed at me from the page and made me ache that I could not fix this girl … See totally awesome writting and character building skills.

  31. I love your books and completely agree with your About Me page. I admit I was just a bit skeptical when I got your first book. I saw it on Elle Casey’s site and she’s never steered me wrong when it comes to book so for that reason alone I gave it a try and wow I have to say I was very impressed and your stories have earned you a life long stalker, erm I mean fan.

As a guy who spent the better part of his life trying to control his emotions and to mostly ignore them I can totally relate. I think allowing yourself to feel and think about all of the stronger emotions (and let’s be honest love is the strongest emotion out there) has helped you to become a better writer. All of your characters voices are real, especially Samantha’s. I’m just glad that I allowed my self to be emotionally open enough to try romance books. I’ve really enjoyed them a lot and could not imagine my life without them now.

Another thing I love is watching an already talented author just continually grow and go from strength to strength in such a short amount of time like you have. Your first book was great and it just doesn’t seem like it can get any better then the second one comes out and it’s even better. That’s just amazing! Keep up the great work, I love an honest story that feels so real.

    • Wow, thank you so much, Jamie! :-D Yeah, most men are trained to pretend their emotions don’t exist to the point we forget we have them. Romance is the perfect genre to explore that! I agree with you about the effect of Romance books. Now that I read them and write them, I often look at other genres and wonder why the character are so emotionally repressed! Of course, who needs emotions when you’re busy saving the country from a terrorist threat are an invasion of robots? No need for emotions then, right! ;-)

Anyway, thank you so much for your kind words. I do my best with each book to do a better job than the last. I’m glad it shows!

And yeah, Elle Casey rocks. :-D

      Devon

  32. I just finished all three of your books in like 4 days. Could not put them down. Imagine my shock after Fearless when( I’m sure your getting tired of this but…) Your a guy! I love all of AbbiGlines’ books and was looking for more of the same new adult genre. I found yours and said ” What the he’ll, hot guy on the front, should be good” yeah not good…. Awesome!!! I can’t wait for more books by you!!!

      • Well seeing how all I did was read them and told you how I honestly liked them( I can go in greater detail, chapter by chapter if you want ( seriously I can talk about books ALL DAY) but I think I won’t seeing how you have to write more books for your adoring fans… like me ;D)
And you wrote such amazing books it’s you who rocks. I will say one more thing though… I love the fact that you put classic cars into the book, because that just puts me more into it. Weird that, that would make me like it better I know, but I grew up with old cars all my life. I help my dad build them. Although instead of a 1968 Camaro, I prefer a ’68 Firebird myself, or a 57 Bel air, or a 58 Plymouth Fury, or a…oops apparently I can all day about cars too. :)
And I read fast because there is nothing to do in my small town in Northern Nevada except gamble and drink and since I do neither ( it’s a waste of money and brain cells) all I do is read A LOT.
So no I don’t Rock YOU DO.
Your very talented. So keep those books coming :)
        ~Mellissa

      • You rock, Melissa! I can talk books to my jaw falls off, so you’re in good company! ;-)

That’s awesome about the cars. I’m the same way, a story can just mention something I have a passion for, and suddenly I’m invested in the story that much more. Yeah, th 68 Firebird is a sweet car. As is the 58 Fury. Loved it in Christine!

I’m so glad my books give you an alternative to gambling and drinking! :-D My mission is accomplished!

Thanks again for all the kind words. :-D

        Devon

  33. Well, finished Painless in record time. Was a great read.. Though, as a Mother of a Samantha, I really wanted to go slap Sam’s parents.. Can’t imagine ever treating my children like that. But, the world is filled with all kinds of terrible people. Looking forward to what your next project will be. Hoping it will expand on some of your other characters, as the hints said ;-). Good Luck! All the best to you!!

    • Thank you so much, Lorraine! :-D Yeah, Sam’s mom is a B-word! ;-) I imagine your kids are quite happy to have you for a mom. :-) More stories to come. Thanks for writing.

  34. Devon Hartford, where have you been all my life?! If you have sex the way you write, your girlfriend/partner/spouse must be cross-eyed with glee!

I am not ashamed to say that there were parts of this book where I was talking out loud to the characters “What the hell is wrong with you?”, “Tell him!!!!”, “Tell her!”, “Walk away. Just walk away… pleeease!”, “I cannot believe she/he just said that!” and any number of other conversations I had while gripping my phone/tablet tightly as I barrelled my way through all 3 books. At one point, the build up and tension were too much for me. I bookmarked the page, skipped ahead a chapter or two and then when I could breathe again, I came back to my bookmark and finished the tense bit. It was like walking on the edge of knife for way too long and I cracked. So sue me. I don’t cope well with suspense!

I was glued to this series for 3 days! I read it every spare second I got – making dinner for the kids, hanging out washing, before going to bed, when I should have been planning paintings, instead of writing the first draft of the history book I’m supposed to finish by Monday *yawn*! I just had to know what happened next!

These books really had a special interest for me because I have just become a professional artist, like within the last year. I am now getting commissions and sales of my paintings and it’s blowing my mind the way it blew Samantha’s – making a living doing what I love. So for me, it was extra special hanging out with the Manos men and learning about their studios, their styles, their work, how they organised themselves.

Thank you Devon Hartford. I may have missed every deadline I needed to hit at the end of this week (or maybe I’ll just skip sleep for 2 more nights and catch up), but I had a blast reading your books.

Now of course, I WANT MORE!
    Keep writing!
    Stacey

    • Wow, Stacey! What a terrific message! :-D I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed reading it this morning! :-D I knew in advance that only a small percentage of my readers would be working artists, but it brings a huge grin to my face to know that another painter like you has read Samantha’s story! :-D Thank you so much for all your kind words, and harrowing tales of book addiction! I couldn’t hope for a more passionate response than yours! Thank you! And may your painting career continue to blossom, just like Samantha’s! :-) Thanks for writing, Stacey!

  35. I love love loved all of the books and recommend them to everyone, I read all 3 books in 5 days!!! It is by far the top 5 romance series I have read, and I have read them all, with that being said I need more Sam and Christos, also I have never had a character make laugh like Romeo did. Great job on one heck of a series, keep ’em coming!!!!!

  36. Dear Devon,
I really enjoyed the Victory run series, it kept me glued to the book night and day. The story line was impeccably written, and you are by far my favourite author. I would like to ask you if you are considering writing another series on Victory and Kellan, i hope that you do.

  37. Darn, just tried to go find the Victory Run series. For some reason Amazon.ca says it is unavailable. Do you know if it will be available any time soon? Don’t want to read 2 and 3 without 1 ;-)

  38. I’m about 1/3 of the way through Victory Run 3. Loved the the Fearless trilogy. I can’t wait to see what’s next. Rock On!

  39. Wow! Came across one year love by chance and became totally entranced by them. Unable to put them down I devoured the first three books in record time and I’m desperately waiting for the conclusion! I would and will be recommending these books. Thank you x

  40. Hey Devon!

I absolutely love the Samantha Smith series! I read it super fast! I got sucked into their world and never wanted to leave! I even keep going back to the series to reread it.

But I have to know, will there EVER be another book in the series?!?!?!?

    • Aww, thank you so much! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the SDU gang. I miss them too. You’re not the first person to ask about more from the gang. In other words, yes! We’ll be seeing more from the SDU gang very soon. The latest book, which will be out in about two weeks, features a cameo from Romeo and Kamiko! It also ties things back to the SDU world. In other words, you’ll be seeing plenty from the gang throughout the year. :-D Thanks for writing! :-D

  41. Devon,
I just spent a very sleepless weekend reading your Fearless/Reckless/Painless novels, the sleepless weekend should speak for itself! I typically read mostly historical. Needless to say you have turned me on to something new that I have thoroughly enjoyed. Your rhetoric between your characters and their thoughts could bring down the house at Comedy Central!! Your ability to make the reader feel the emotions of your characters is in my opinion is one of the most important traits of a writer. I read your Stepbrother novel first which caused me to want to read more of your books. I loved that your characters had real problems, fears and insecurities that apply to life as we know it. Just a suggestion, I would love to have a story for Brandon; I liked his character in spite of some of his flaws, which we all have!!! I would love to see his character developed.
Anyway, much thanks for your incredible novels and writing style that I laughed till I peed myself!!!
    Edie

    • Edie! :-D That is awesome! :-D The enjoying the books part, not the sleepless part! ;-) LOL That is so cool that you enjoyed the books that much! And thank you sincerely for your comments about my comedy. I like the laughs as much as the romance, as you’ve noticed. :-D I love your suggestion about Brandon. He’s not such a bad guy. People have been asking for more stories about the San Diego gang, so we will be hearing more from all of them soon! Thank you so much for writing. You made my morning! :-D – Devon

      • Devon,
I was wondering, with your reference in the Fearless and the One Year books (which I just finished,LOL), do you have a personal like for refreshing drink with the fresh lemonade and the natural flavored waters? If so I have a recipe I think you might enjoy, very refreshing and healthy. ~Edie

  42. Devon, I absolutely loved your Victory Run series! Please tell me that you will be writing one more book to let us know what happens now that they’ve decided to stick together and make music. Please give us fans a “what happened to them” closer book, or even a novella. Please!! Thank you,Lori McCarthy

    • Thank you so much, Lori! :-D At some point, there will be more Victory books. I have a whole journey mapped out for them. It might take a while, but I will get it done. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. :-D Devon

      • Devon, thank you so much for personally taking the time out of your busy day to respond to me. I will be anxiously awaiting more Victory Run novels. It’s great to know that their story will continue. Thank you again, Lori McCarthy

  43. OMG!! You are a writing genius!!!!! I love love LOVE how your books are written! Your characters have brilliant personalities! So funny, quick and witty!! You are my new favorite author!! I have read all of your work in a matter of 2weeks. I couldn’t put them down!! I can not wait to see what you have in store for future works!!!

PS alot of books that have sequels repeat information that happened in books prior. You could read book 2 or 3 and find out the jist of the prior books. A lot of filler and wasted time. and your books never did that!! I absolutely love that!! I had to read every bit of information cause you didn’t waste my time and i didn’t want to miss any part of what was going on!! Your brilliant!! Thank you!’

    • Thank you so much, Lindsey! Sorry for the delayed reply. I was busy writing the next book (Cover Model, out August 14th!).

Anyway, thank you for your kind words. I hate it when sequels summarize previous books too. I’m glad you noticed I left that stuff out! :-D – Devon
